MARCH, 2009 ~ Spring is in the air at the Sunflower Cottage. We are having our
annual Spring Open House on April 3 & 4 from 9 to 5. Be sure to stop in and see
all of our new items. We have been busy working on things during the winter, so
hope to have something new to appeal to everyone.

After the open house we will just be open on a regular basis on Saturday, but if
you need a last minute gift on any other day, just give us a call at 673-6369 or 673-
6512.   If we are in the area we will open the shop and be glad to see you!

SUNFLOWER COTTAGE

DECEMBER, 2008. . .We haven't been online since August due to a death in the
family. We did do Chautauqua in the Park in September which is always a
wonderful show...and then just did Step Back in Time at Jamesport on Nov. 28 &
29 which really gets us in the Christmas spirit! It snowed again this year...and the
snow & the hot cider & the Christmas music made it just magical! The Sunflower
Cottage Fall Open House (can you believe that it is the THIRD one?) was Nov. 14 &
15. It was fun as usual. The shop has been moved to a different room & is
somewhat downsized. It is very cozy and everyone seems to like it a lot. Check
out the pictures!! And be sure to come to the Sunflower Cottage between now &
Christmas to get that unique & mainly handmade Christmas gift! We are open on
SATURDAY from 9 to 5 and OTHER DAYS by appointment. Just call 660-673-6512
- which is Maggie's number. Barbara will be in CA for the holidays and doing
some shopping for the SPRING.

AUGUST, 2008 ... It has been a busy summer at the Sunflower Cottage! Barbara
has had a space at several craft shows in Trenton and Jamesport, and we set up a
booth at the Galt Fair and painted faces ... and hands and arms ;-) ... even during a
couple of rain showers. Now, we are busily preparing for Chautauqua in the Park
at Chillicothe on September 6 and 7. This is a favorite of ours, and we always have
many repeat customers visiting our Fairy Hideaway and trying on the beaded
crowns and halos. We will also be setting up at the Jamesport Heritage Festival
the end of September and Missouri Day in Trenton in October. Barbara and
Maggie have both set up new online shops, and you can reach the sites through
our "links" tab. We are enjoying this venture and frequently add new items.

NOVEMBER, 2007. . . .It was just a year ago that the Sunflower Cottage opened.
And now we are planning our 2nd Holiday Open House, to be held on
November 10 from 9am to 6pm.    There is also a ham and beans meal
sponsored by the Galt Lions' Club at the Lions' Hall from 11am to 2pm. that day.
Come and shop with us at the Sunflower Cottage and have a delicious home-
cooked meal while you're in town.

We are your one-stop Christmas store....with unique gifts for boys & girls, moms &
dads, secretaries, teachers, friends.....something for people of all ages!

Also during the month of November you can see us at Jamesport's 22nd Annual
"Step Back in Time" Christmas Festival Craft Show. We will be set up in the Old
Theatre Building and will have Christmas crowns, halos, wands and all sorts of
painted and handcrafted ornaments & glass art, as well as Christmas socks,
scarves and other gifts.   Barbara will also be doing face painting....snowflakes,
Santa, snowmen, etc.    Come and see us!   It will be a fun show!!

CHAUTAUQUA IN THE PARK....for those of you who weren't able to attend, a
wonderful time was had by all. The weather was PERFECT....there was great
entertainment and wonderful booths and lots of demonstrations and delicious
food. Be SURE to attend next year!! In the meantime, check out the "PICTURES-

SEPTEMBER, 2007. . . It's back to school time and we are all starting to think
about FALL...falling leaves, Halloween, Thanksgiving!   This weekend, September
8 and 9, is Chillicothe's well-loved CHAUTAUQUA IN THE PARK, and the
Sunflower Cottage will be there with a booth and our fairy hideaway. There are
lovely crafts for sale and delicious food as well as wonderful entertainment and
demonstrations of vintage crafts. This is an event that you won't want to miss!!

We were also very honored to have an article appear in the Trenton newspaper,
the Republican-Times, on August 30, highlighting the Sunflower Cottage. This
article was written by Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce President, Terri
Henderson, and she gave us a glowing review. See for yourself by clicking on

We will be doing the Missouri Day Festival in Trenton on October 20 and 21 (for
more information visit www.trentonmochamber.com and click on Missouri Day
2007) Other than that we expect to have the Sunflower Cottage open at the stated
times. We will probably have extended hours in December, so keep watching the
website for further information.

AND don't forget our Holiday Open House on November 10 from 10:00am until 6:
00pm!

SUNFLOWER COTTAGE

MAY, 2007. . . .Barbara has just returned from a buying trip to California so be sure
to come in to see the new items. Maggie will be leaving on a trip to Alaska at the
end of the month & we will expect to see some cute things from the Far North
when she returns. The Sunflower Cottage remains open even when we are
traveling.

Our show schedule is still in the process of being finalized, but first up is the Car
Show in Galt on May 19. We will have our colorful new Fairy Hideaway on display
for the first time, and there will be a great assortment of fairy princess halos and
wands, as well as whimsical face-painting with some unique designs. The
Sunflower Cottage will be open during the Car Show, but the hours may vary.

We look forward to seeing you at our shows this summer and also at the
Sunflower Cottage. We mainly have children's items at the shows, so please come
to the shop to see our complete line of gift items.

APRIL, 2007. . . . Spring is in full swing at the Sunflower Cottage. We have many
new items for Mother's Day, as well as for all of your other special events.

The Sunflower Cottage is proud to be a new member of the Trenton Area Chamber
of Commerce.

This summer we plan to do some traveling with the Fairy Hideaway and participate
in several street fairs and events in the area.   The Sunflower Cottage will still be
open and hours will remain the same.   Check back to get a complete list of dates

MARCH, 2007. . . . We are thinking SPRING at the Sunflower Cottage. We reopened the shop
on March 1st and we've had a great time unpacking a lot of new inventory and displaying it for
your shopping pleasure.

Our new hours are: Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 10am till 6pm.   We are also open by
appointment, so if you need a last minute gift on a day when we aren't scheduled to be open,
just give us a call. If we are in the area, we will be glad to see you!

We plan to start our tea parties by appointment very soon, too, so check back on the website
for more information about that as we get our plans in place. Or just come and visit us at the

Grand Opening such a success!
